Following last year’s successful launch, Isolation Budapest, a festival jointly organised by Akvárium Klub and Liszt Fest, is set to showcase today’s most exciting artists with a particularly strong programme in 2023 as well. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of soul, jazz, punk, lofi hip-hop, theatre, Japanese culture or bone-shaking club anthems.
The festival’s headliner is American virtuoso Nick Hakim, whose name certainly needs no introduction to the lovers of soul and psychedelic music. In addition to Hakim, one of the highlights of Isolation Budapest is likely to be a concert by Wu-Lu, a leader of the rising punk rap scene, whose latest album Loggerhead was released by Warp in 2022. Wu-Lu, who has already performed in Glastonbury, set out on a tour this May as a guest artist with Blur. French-born, London-based producer and singer COUCOU CHLOE, who is a true diva of strobe light club anthems, is also likely to give an exciting show: her mysterious, unsettling sound, which seems to come from the future, was noticed by Rihanna in 2017.
This program of the Liszt Fest is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with Akvárium Klub.
