MORDÁI bring a special show to the Margó Literary Festival: alongside playing their own songs, they will pay tribute to the work of Ferenc Sebő with a themed set. MORDÁI’s musical world is deeply influenced by the experimental Hungarian folk music tradition of the 1960s and 1970s, of which Ferenc Sebő was one of the most important figures. A key founder of the dance-house movement and a champion of the preservation of Hungarian folk music, he became a guiding light to artists who have sought to reinterpret the tradition through the sensibilities of contemporary music. The Sebő section of the concert is a personal tribute, featuring songs and musical motifs that evoke the legacy of Ferenc Sebő, while blending seamlessly into MORDÁI’s dark, folk-rock soundscape. This special programme both looks back at the defining moments of the revival of Hungarian folk music and shows how this tradition lives on.

This programme of the Liszt Fest is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with Kultúrkombinát Kft.
