The Angelica Girls’ Choir and pianist Gergely Bogányi will take to the stage with an exciting concert programme. Its first half presents a closed cycle of Liszt’s choral compositions with instrumental accompaniment, fashioned by Gergely Bogányi and Zsuzsanna Gráf. In addition to special, original variations by the composer, such as the Hymne de l'enfant à son réveil (The Awaking Child’s Hymn), there will be a choral arrangement of O Meer im Abendstrahl, a piece originally written as a duet with piano accompaniment. The second half promises to be equally interesting, with a similar treatment given to Bartók’s works, including Village Scenes, a key piece from the 1920s that is based on Slovak folk songs.
This concert of the Liszt Fest is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with House of Music Hungary.
