The Sacred Heart Jesuit Church, designed by József Kauser in a combination of Romanesque and Gothic Revival styles, was built between 1888 and 1909 mostly by donations. Situated in the Palotanegyed (Palace District), it is modest in size and has a distinctive red brick exterior. Consecrated in 1909, the church was the centre of Jesuit life in Budapest until 1945. It was returned to the Jesuit order after the regime change in 1989.

The Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art occupies an important position in the network of national, Central European and international contemporary art museums. The Hungarian National Gallery is the largest public collection to present the history of fine art in Hungary. Its collections range from the founding of the state to the present day, from the earliest Hungarian relics to contemporary art. The gallery currently has a collection of 110,000 works of art, the highlights of which can be seen in the permanent exhibitions, while the museum’s temporary displays offer deeper insights into the work of individual artists.

Cloakroom

For safety reasons, the use of the cloakroom is obligatory and free of charge. Valuables can be deposited during the visit in our lockable safes or in a “take and return” linen bag available free of charge in the cloakroom.

Entering the area of the Buda Castle by car is only possible with an entry permit. The gallery can be accessed directly on foot or in a wheelchair, or can be reached by public transportation based on the information provided on the venue’s website.

The House of Music Hungary has a restaurant, a café and a snack bar. The latter is open until whatever performance is on.

Cloakroom

The cloakroom is free of charge, and visitors to the exhibitions are required to use it. There are also free lockers for bags and small coats.

Parking

If you come by car, you can use the Museum Underground Car Park, an 800-lot facility. It is accessible from Dózsa György út, between Damjanich and Dembinszky utca. From the underground car park, the House of Music Hungary can be reached in a few minutes’ walk through City Park, with signposts to guide you along the way.
Buy your tickets online for 2 hours of free parking on the performance day. Claim your discount by having your parking slip validated at the information desk of the House of Music Hungary. If your concert is in the evening, validate your parking slip before the start of the performance, until 8 pm. The parking discount provided by the House of Music Hungary is valid for one entry and exit on the day of the performance.
Bicycles can be locked to the bike stands outside the House of Music Hungary.

The Millenáris, the favourite event venue of Central Buda, is situated on the site of a former industrial complex, the Ganz Works. Stretching from Margit Boulevard to Marczibányi Square, Millenáris and Széllkapu Park cover a total area of 7 hectares, with playgrounds, lakes, water games and a rich wildlife, as well as industrial buildings, which have won multiple awards and provide more than thirty variable event locations with unique atmospheres, offering quality entertainment spaces in a green environment in the heart of Buda.

The event centre is easily accessible by all means of transport and parking is possible around the clock in two underground parking that are lots accessible from Kis Rókus Street (Széllkapu and Millenáris), as well as in the streets.

The Museum Garden is a national memorial park surrounding the Hungarian National Museum in the 8th District of Budapest. But if the ‘Muzi’ has seen some big events, it has also always been a popular recreational park. In the past two decades, it has hosted festivals as well.

Budapest’s unique new cultural venue, the National Dance Theatre, opened its doors in Millenáris Park at the beginning of 2019. The building, equipped with the latest in theatre technology and featuring special architectural solutions, offers a theatre and chamber theatre for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building is a community space open for visitors to the park, making the Millenáris even more integrated in the urban texture of the capital.

Opened in 1872 among Europe’s oldest institutions dedicated to ethnography, Budapest’s Museum of Ethnography is one of the most important specialist museums on the continent. Its collection includes over 200,000 ethnographic objects, unique photographs, manuscripts, recordings of folk music and films. In addition to the priceless artefacts of Hungarian folk culture, it is also home to the country’s largest international collection and an important centre for research into contemporary culture. In 2022, the museum moved to its current state-of-the-art building in City Park, where it will open its extraordinary permanent exhibition of 3,000 items in 2024, alongside its temporary displays.

The Pesti Vigadó and its predecessor, the Redoute, have been the home of the highest culture and the centre of social life since 1833, with concerts by Ferenc Liszt, Ferenc Erkel, Béla Bartók, Brahms, Saint-Saëns and Debussy.
