6 songs to listen to before Isolation Budapest

7 October 2025

On 11 October, the international and domestic underground will once again move to the Akvárium Klub for Isolation Budapest 2025, with soul, indie rock, hip hop and avant-garde pop acts rendezvousing on the same night. Jordan Rakei, Yellow Days, Jeshi, Hinds, Martin Luke Brown and Okay Kaya: six artists who are guaranteed to bring about special moments. Until that night comes, let us show you six songs to get you in the mood for one of the most exciting club festivals of the year.

Hinds: Boom Boom Back

Last year, Hinds went into a bar in Los Angeles, where they ran into Beck. They made friends, hung out for a week and recorded what is probably the most powerful song on Hinds’ most powerful album.

Yellow Days: Your Hand Holding Mine

A key song of the indie wave of the 2010s. If you had Spotify playlists back in 2016, you most likely had this song on one of them.

Martin Luke Brown: ... hello !

It’s difficult to pick a song from one of the best indie albums of the year, but if you start with this one, you won’t be able to avoid listening to the whole album. And then listen to it again and again, until and beyond 11 October.

Okay Kaya ft. Baba Stiltz: I Believe In Love

The most beautiful, simplest, loveliest ballad of 2025. Such songs are in high demand these days. We at Liszt Fest also believe in love.

Jeshi: Generation

All we’re saying is that, apart from being an important piece on a seminal record of British hip hop, this song was spinning a lot in some of Budapest’s coolest bars in 2022. Thanks in part to the turntable of Isolation Budapest’s mysterious graphic designer!

Jordan Rakei: Say Something

In the course of just three minutes, this track gets you into the Jordan Rakei mood and shows how effortlessly he incorporates different genres into his unique musical world. Which may be why he chose this to be the opening song at his NPR Tiny Desk concert.
