Employing the formal idiom of folk music, this programme, which is based on the musical ideas of cimbalom player Dániel Szabó, seeks to reflect all that can be known about the musical taste, the popular dances and the virtuoso instrumentalists of Liszt’s time. Dániel Szabó’s musical partners are former and current teachers and students of the Folk Music Programme at the Liszt Academy. The two featured guests of the evening – pianist Balázs Fülei, head of the Chamber Music Programme, and cimbalom player Miklós Lukács – will evoke the spirit of the age through Liszt’s own works.
This concert of the Liszt Fest is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with Liszt Academy.
