The PONT Festival, one of Hungary’s most colourful series of world music events, this year focuses on the diverse culture of Serbia and the landscapes of the Balkans. The all-day free festival will feature Džumbus Trio, who play South Slavic melodies; one of Hungary’s most knowledgeable musicians, László Halász and his band will teach you kolo, the dynamic dance; and to end the day on a high note, trumpet phenomenon Bojan Krstić and his band will make an appearance from southern Serbia. Like every year, the programme will include such treasures of UNESCO-listed cultural heritage as kolo, the round dance, and the gusle, a lute-like plucked instrument. Starting in the mid-morning, the festival will offer a range of exciting activities that are sure to engage visitors of all ages, including an animation, an arts and crafts and a singing workshop, as well as the learning of dances, of course.
This programme of the Liszt Fest is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint programme with Hangvető.
